Reinventing Group Care

This manual is a guide to the transformation of group care systems and organizations. It is intended as a comprehensive guide for redesigning, enhancing and/or creating an effective group care program for the 21st Century. The integrated cultural model represented here is the most powerful force we are aware of for achieving this end. This book provides the theoretical and research basis for this integrated cultural model known as Transformation Education. It includes a “how-to” component for every technique or approach discussed, supplies tools for the readers’ use, and elaborates on many of the recommended practices by supplying troubleshooting advice, illustrations and supplemental resources. As an additional aid, the appendix contains job descriptions, the performance review system to evaluate staff and forms that are helpful in deploying the Transformation Education model. These documents can serve as templates to customize and integrate these tools into any group care program.
